Tahun 1910 Angkatan Laut Britania Raya merupakan angkatan laut yang paling disegani di tujuh samudera. Mereka menguasai hampir seluruh lautan dan tak ada bandingannya.. Pada suatu hari, HMS Dreadnought yang mega, yang merupakan kapal bendera dari "The Home and Atlantic Fleets" yang sedang berlabuh di Weymouth, Dorset, menerima telegram. Nama pengirim telegram tersebut tercantum nama Sir Charles Hardinge, Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri Inggris. Telegram itu memberitahukan agar kapal dreadnought bersiap-siap untuk menerima kunjungan pangeran-pangeran Abyssinia atau Ethiopia. Angkatan Laut harus menjamu tamu-tamu ini. Memberikan penghargaan pada tamu mereka serta pelayanan yang semaksimal mungkin.
